ABOUT US
We offer beginning wheel-throwing classes and occasional workshops on other aspects of production and alternative firing. Learn more about our classes. We organize or participate in occasional craft shows, open houses and social activities. We currently have room for a few more members. Studio membership is open to potters who have experience with throwing and ceramic artists with experience hand-building who are capable of working independently but are interested in learning other aspects of production and sharing space and energy with other clay people. Members are encouraged to share skills with each other or learn using the studio library. The monthly membership fee is $100 and gives 24 hour access to studio use, space to store personal tools and work in progress, cone 10 glazes, reduced price clay, and cone 6 and cone 10 firings. Because this is a cooperative, all members are expected to help maintain the studio by participating in cleaning, firing, or clay and glaze management. If you are interested in possible membership and would like to visit the studio, please call or text Penny at 530-902-9763.
Studio background
The studio was started and developed by local ceramicist Chris Thompson, who generously welcomed others to use his studio with him. When Chris passed away due to a sudden heart attack in May 2022, the other artists working with him reorganized the studio as a cooperative and continued operations.
